QDU Debating Competition
Caloundra City School is pleased to be a part of the Qld Debating Union (QDU) Debating Competition.
During 2009 Years 8 – 11 teams meet every Thursday lunchtime for training and weekly with their coaches for topic analysis and speech writing.
Students involved in QDU Debating this year are:
- Year 8 - Liam Bosel, Taylor Hayward, Charlotte Price and Taylor Seip
- Year 9 - Lawrence Fogarty, Ashleigh Hull, Jessica Hull, Robert Jones, Talia Kuhl and Daniel Turnock
- Year 10 – Alex Fowler, Jasmine Nichol, Shakira Ramsdell and Tayla Roy
- Year 11 - Madalyn Bayliss, Aleeshia Chick, Alister Eiseman and Melissa Lock
Staff dedicating their time and expertise to Debating this year are: Mr Tony Cartmel, Mrs Lauren Tralau, Mr Shane Weir and Mrs Beth Wilkins.
Parent Support Group
There are many things you can do to assist your son or daughter with debating to ensure the teams have a successful year.
Some of these things include assisting with Debating break-up celebrations and providing expert advice on topics.
